Final yard waste collection slated
The final yard waste collection for 2009 will commence on Tuesday, November 24th. Please have your containerized yard waste to the curb for 7 a.m.
2010 yard waste collection starts Tuesday, April 13, 2010 and runs every other Tuesday, ending in November depending on weather. Please have yard waste to the curb for 7 a.m. and please be patient. While the pick-up begins on Tuesday morning, it may take several days for the contractor to complete the entire Town. Residents can place yard waste in paper compost bags, an open container marked "Yard Waste" or have it bundled. The bags or bundles must not exceed 5 feet in length or weigh more than 44 pounds for each bag/bundle.
Plastic bags are NOT accepted,. Residents will be required to use large brown paper bags or an open container marked "Yard Waste". Examples of material that will be accepted include:
- Leaves
- Garden trimmings
- Brush
- House and garden plants
- Hedge and tree trimmings/branches
- Grass clippings
- Pumpkins
Yard Waste does not include sod, soil, lumber, tree stumps or stones and must be free of metal, food waste and garbage. The Town will not pick up loose branches.
